Welcome to the MedSoc Electives Database!

Each year, 5th year medical students from UNSW go on an extraordinary range of placements for their elective terms. In 2008, MedSoc has created this online database to facilitate sharing of our collective experiences for the reference of other students into the future.

If you have done your elective - whether it be local or international, Africa or America, a clinical clerkship or research placement - please send through any material or comments you have on your placements to electives(at)medsoc.org.au. Ideally, this would be both in terms of the place itself and any issues with travel, etc., as well as the quality of the placement and any advice you have for students considering that placement in the future. Everyone puts together a report from elective terms, so hopefully you all already have something written down ready to go!
